A few important things to be aware of:
- In Austria there is a toll for using the Autobahn. Those that are caught without a valid Vignette (badge) are subject to large fines. The Vignettes are sold at kiosks and petrol stations. They are valid for 10 days, 2 months or for a whole year
- The requirement for a Vignette also applies to the Landeck Tunnel (alternative route possible)
- In Austria there is a requirement for winter tyres from 01 November to 15 April; you will also need suitable equipment, including snow chains depending on the weather.
- High-visibility vests are also mandatory in Austria – including for any passengers that leave the vehicle in the event of a breakdown or accident.
Arriving by car
From whichever direction you arrive: Tyrol is easy to reach by car on many routes. Check your route planner, buy your Vignette and off you go.

Your destination train station is Landeck-Zams. From there, you can reach Nauders on the Reschen Pass on the Postbus or in a taxi.
