And when your stomach starts to rumble? No outing is complete without a pit stop in a rustic mountain hut. As well as providing typical Tyrolean delicacies, the ambience creates a great atmosphere. This puts you in good humour for the next toboggan run down into the valley.

Eight kilometres down into the valley
One of the longest natural toboggan runs in Tyrol starts at 2,200 metres at the Bergkastelbahn lift station. You can travel up in comfort in this lift before speeding down an incredible eight kilometres on the sledge into the valley. Guaranteed tobogganing fun – for all ages.

And Bergkastel isn’t the only toboggan run on the mountain. The alternative descent, from Lärchenalm is lit up on tuesdays & thursdays and snakes down four kilometres through the glittering winter wonderland into the valley.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, tobogganing fans of all ages get the opportunity to toboggan under the starry sky. The Lärchenhang chair lift will bring you up to the hut from 18:30 until 22:00. Up there, Tyrolean dishes and mulled wine or punch will satisfy hunger and quench thirst. The romantic floodlit tobogganing parties under the open sky are available until 11.00 pm – always accompanied with glittering stars and a view of Nauders by night.
