Nauders

A traditional highlight of the alpine summer

When festively decorated cattle return from the alpine pastures to the valley, Nauders celebrates the end of a successful summer on the alpine pastures.

The cattle drive in Nauders marks the festive conclusion of the alpine summer every year.
When the livestock returns safely from the alpine pastures, farmers, dairymen, and herders celebrate this special living tradition together with guests and locals.

Around 2,000 cows, cattle, calves, horses, sheep, and goats spend the summer on the Nauders alpine pastures before returning to the valley in the fall, festively decorated.
Living traditions, festively decorated animals, and the special atmosphere make the cattle drive a unique experience for guests and locals alike.
