Castle houses
Attraction
In Kauns there are still 3 old, beautifully painted farm houses which once belonged to Burg Berneck - the Castle houses. The paintings on the castle houses depict the story of Emperor Maximilian. They also depict the notorious poacher “Wiesejaggl”, who got up to his mischief in the Kaunertal woods during the reign of the Emperor.
Today, farming families from Kauns live in the 3 castle houses and they are privately owned.
